TrueNAS2Windows

Below is a guide that walks you through setting up a direct connection between TrueNAS Scale and a Windows 11 PC without using a switch. This configuration is ideal for home lab environments where you want lightning-fast transfers, complete isolation from the Internet on your NAS connection, and overall network efficiency.

Direct Connection from TrueNAS Scale to Windows 11 PC

This guide details the process of connecting a TrueNAS Scale system directly to a Windows 11 PC using two separate network interfaces. One NIC on your PC remains dedicated to your regular Internet connection, while the other is reserved for direct communication with your NAS device. The benefits? Speed, isolation, and enhanced performance.

What

Did anyone else know that the Nazi influence is why the middle east is the way it is? Shocking, but true.

Quotes

My grandpa would say this all the time, “You can crap in one hand and wish in the other, see which one fills up first.” Never understood that till later in life. All these years and I still miss him.

One of my all time favorites. “When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, tell them what they want to hear.”

Knowing

Know that their is something greater than yourself. Know who you are. Know those around you. Know what we are capable of, both good and bad. Know that we always have a choice.

Laws of Physics

Laws of Physics Are they holding us back from star to star travel? Shouldn’t we set them aside a take a different look?

Choices

There was a time I made bad choices. Don’t be like me. Think about it before you choose. Life is to short to make mistakes. All it takes is a little time to make the right choice for you.

Time

Is time linear? In theory, no. In reality, yes. Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock. I guess we will all find out one day.

t = m \cdot x + b

lol

Can’t we all just get along? lol.

How

How can a group of people fight for the life of a convicted murderer, and then turn around and say it is a Right to kill a unborn human? The unborn, the most innocent amoung us, if I may say so.

AI

I have been using AI for different things and find the potential for it to do good. But also the potential for it to be used for very dark proposes. The human condition will allows us to use it militarily to destroy one another, by justifying with some excuse. To keep that from happening we must first understand who we are and what we are capable of, from the good we can do to the evil we can do.

Are You Free

Are you free? Most say yes, we have a Bill of Rights that tell us so. While true, not that many years ago. Not so much today. It use to be, First the Bill of Rights and then the law. Now it has been flipped. First is the law then the Bill of Rights. Examples 1.Probable Cause. 2.Eminent Domain. 3. The Patriot Act. (nothing patriotic about it). Gave sweeping powers to all the three letter agency’s. When you give that much power to someone they will us it. It’s just human nature. You don’t need money to control someone, all it take is information. If you know something on them you can control them. No different with a population. Our Founding fathers warned us of this.

God and Darwin

Who is right? Neither can be proven. So it really comes down to a matter of faith. We do have a choice, free will. We are always looking for something greater than ourself, and isnt that the point? Wouldn’t you ratter live like there is a God and find out later there’s not, than to live like there isn’t a God and find out there is? Always a choice.

First Post

What have we forgotten? There are ancient site around the world that scientist (the consensus) can’t or are unwilling to try to explain. That alone should make us ask why. Is it because they don’t want to be proven wrong? These sites are very old like built when we are told we were just hunter gathers, not capable of creating such things. For me it just proves that we really don’t know and are to arrogant to admit it. We are no different today than our ancestors, just look at ancient writings. The only thing different is the tools we use. That is called progress, not evolution. We often confuse the two.
